About us
We are one of the independent departments in Kanazawa Medical University located in Uchinada, Ishikawa. We serve the anesthesiology of all patients admitted to Kanazawa Medical University Hospital and our affiliated hospitals around Hokuriku district and Noto peninsula.
In 2019, our anesthesiologists cared for the patients in more than 4,000 cases at KMU Hospital in a variety of subspecialty settings, including all adult multispecialty, cardiovascular, neurovascular, obstetric, pediatric and neonatal.
Our mission
In the past year, we have worked very hard to acquire our residents, colleagues and alumni to maintain the large number of anesthesia cases. Currently, we manage 12 ORs in the surgical center and 3 ORs in the ambulatory surgical center in our institution.
As the members of the faculty, we are fully integrated into the clinical, academic, investigation and educational activities of Kanazawa Medical University.
Clinical
We prepare state-of-the-art hemodynamic monitoring system and perioperative management system in our two surgical centers. Also, we provide multimodal devices and machines required for world’s best anesthetic management such as various kind of video laryngoscope, fiberoptic bronchoscope and high spec ultrasonography.
Education
Residents are fully trained through daily hands-on learning of each anesthesia case. They are obligated to make a presentation in journal club, grand round held every Thursday morning and other academic conferences.
Research
During anesthesiology residency, the opportunity of any types of research will be provided in PhD course. The department faculty can take time out from clinical duty to participate research activity.
