Message from the chairperson

It is my pleasure to send message to you for introduction of our department.

Since our department was funded, we mainly worked with epidemiology to investigate causes and risk factors of various diseases and to evaluate medical screening and intervention. Each researcher performs research works in various medical fields; cancer, circulatory diseases, environmental health including toxicity of cadmium and dioxins, occupational related diseases, and monitoring congenital anomalies.

Nowadays, epidemiology is expected to play an important role in disease prevention and medical intervention, because large-scale medical database is going to be constructed for evaluation of medical treatment and skills.

Therefore, we are looking forward to collaborate with researchers, medical workers, and public health workers from any areas; Ishikawa prefecture, Hokuriku area, all over Japan, and overseas for disease prevention and improvement of medical intervention and skills.
